THE MAGIC OF BLAKENEY

The whole of Norfolk is beautiful but there’s a magic in Blakeney that you don’t get elsewhere. A feeling of being as far away from your troubles as you possibly could be, yet close enough to everything you could possibly need.

Summer brings a buzz to Blakeney. Hollyhocked lined village streets with beautiful independent shops, cafes & delis. Boat lined quaysides with paddle boards to rent and seal trips to book. Seafood freshly caught that morning, perfect for lunch overlooking the salt marshes.

Outside of season, Blakeney doesn’t get as much love. Without the food vans, the seals and the sunshine, it’s easy to be lulled into thinking there isn’t much to Blakeney….but you’d be wrong.

Once your feet are on that coast path and you head out of the village, a calmness descends. You’ll likely not see another soul your whole walk. The reeds rustle in the wind, owls swoop across your path. Your shoulders loosen and you realise that there’s also a magic when no-one’s there. When you get the beauty and tranquility all to yourself.

Whatever time of year you visit, there really is no other feeling like it.
